Hi readers, thank you as always for being here. I hope everyone’s staying healthy and having a great start to the week. Something’s definitely going around with the season change so here’s a gentle reminder to take care of yourselves during this time. I actually ended up closing September orders last weekend to give myself some time to rest and recuperate from a hectic month of popups. I took that week to step away from the kitchen and focus my energy on other important aspects of my life— such as some long overdue quality time with friends + family as well as working on my other creative endeavors like YouTube. If you’re able to, I hope you’re taking some intentional time and space for rest + fulfillment in ways outside of work as well.

Fall Pastries
The Kabocha Persimmon Cake is coming back soon! It’s one of my favorite pastries on the menu + I’ve been waiting for fall to create the persimmon petals again. I went to the Santa Monica Farmers Market last Saturday to see if persimmons were in and sadly, they weren’t yet. But I did see a small quantity come in at the local Korean market so I’m excited to bring this back very soon.
At the moment, I’m also inspired to experiment with pomegranates, pluots and peaches. Starting this month, I’m dedicating one week out of the month to R&D so I’m hoping that I’ll be able to create more going forward.
